During the meeting CLIMADAPT team presented the work performed in the framework of Task 1.2 relevant to fire danger seasonal forecasts and high-resolution long-term projections for selected FIRE-RES living labs.
Dr. Christos Giannakopoulos and Gianna Kitsara, from CLIMADAPT team, participated in Fête de la Science 2023: L’eau dans la tourmente climatique , held at the French Institute of Greece in Athens. Dr. Christos Giannakopoulos did an introductory speech about IPCC (as a focal point in Greece) and Gianna Kitsara participated, with other young researchers, in the round table discussion following the lecture by climatologist Françoise Vimeux: "Climate change: prospects for 2050-2100".

Tim van der Schriek , from the CLIMADAPT team, attended and presented our results at the final workshop of the MediterRE3 Project (REstoring REsilience of Mediterranean landscapes to REduce GHG emissions from wildfires). The CLIMADAPT research group developed a statistical modelling approach to estimate future Burnt Area and Greenhouse Gas emissions associated with wildfires under future climate scenarios. The workshop took place in the Luberon National Park (France). For a detailed explanation of the project and its results, see here
